TermDefinition
1 The date you wrote the check.
2 Person or company receiving the payment.
3 The amount of payment, in numbers.
4 Total payment, in words.
5 Memo (description of payment), optional.
6 Checking account number
7 Check number (also in upper right corner).
Extras to remember Always write a check in pen so nothing can be changed, if you make a mistake, initial any corrections you make or write "VOID" across the check and fill out a new one, before you shred the voided check, be sure to record it in your check register.
