What is a cell? The smallest unit that can perform all life processes.
What is a eukaryote? An organism that is made up of cells that have a nucleus enclosed by a membrane.
What is a cell membrane? A phospholipid layer that covers a cells surface. It acts a barrier between the inside of a cell and the cells environment.
What is a nucleus? A membrane bound organelle that contains the cells DNA and has a role in process such as growth, metabolism, and reproduction.
What is an organelle? One of the small bodies in a cells cytoplasm that are specialized to perform a specific function.
What is a prokaryote An organism that consists of a single cell that does not have a nucleus.
Name 2 basic cells Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic
When were cells discovered? When the microscope was invented in the 1600's
