Plant and Animal cell parts

Cell wall supports the cell, protects
Cell Membrane controls movement of materials in and out of the cell
Nucleus controls the cell. (brain)
Nuclear Membrane controls movement of materials in and out of the nucleus
Cytoplasm supports/protects cell organelles
Endoplasmic Reticulum (E.R) carries materials through the cell
Ribosomes makes proteins
mitochondria breaks down sugar molecules into energy
Vacuole stores food, water and waste in the cell
Lysosome *breaks down larger food molecules into smaller molecules *digests old cell parts
Chloroplast uses energy from the sun to make food for the plant. (Photosynthesis)
