Revise the Skeleton, the Nervous System and Senses

Name the three functions of the human skeleton. Support, Protection, Movement.
Which of the following are movable joints? Fused Joint, Hinge Joint, Ball and Socket Joint. Hinge Joint, Ball and Socket Joint.
What are the fibers that connect bone to bone called? Ligaments.
What are the fibers that connect muscle to bone called? Tendons.
What is the function of the synovial fluid and cartilage? To act as a shock absorber between the bones.
What is the function of muscle? To pull bones to move them.
What are two pairs of muscles that work together to move bones called? Antagonistic pairs.
Name the five sense organs found in the human body. Touch, Taste, Sight, Smell and Hearing.
What is a stimulus? Anything that excites a sense.
Once our sense organs detect information from our surroundings where is this information carried to? The brain.
What part of the eye carries messages from the eye to the brain? The optic nerve.
What part of the eye detects light? The retina.
What part of the eye controls the amount of light entering the eye? The iris.
What part of the eye allows light enter the eye? The cornea.
What part of the eye changes the shape of the lens? The ciliary muscle.
What part of the eye focuses the light onto the back of the eye? The lens.
