The Endocrine System Vocabulary

pituitary a gland that regulates growth and controls other endocrine glands
thyroid butterfly shaped gland that produces hormones to control metabolic rate which helps maintain weight loss and gain
insulin a protein hormone released by the pancreas that helps to decrease blood sugar

glucose a sugar that is the major source of energy for the body's cells
