Snake Quiz

How do snakes move? They use their muscles and scales to do the walking.
Snakes scales are made out of what? Keratin.
What is the biggest snake in the world? The Green Anaconda. "Its cousin, the Reticulated Python, can reach slightly greater lengths, but the enormous girth of the anaconda makes it almost twice as heavy." NatGeo
Why are vine snakes remarkable? Their face has broad grooves in front of each eye that allow the snakes to see directly forward; their field of vision overlaps slightly which even gives the snakes binocular vision, allowing them better depth perception than most snakes.
What is the name of the largest Reticulated Python's in captivity? Colossus: A 28.5 ft 320 lbs female housed at the Pittsburgh Zoo
What does the Hognose Snake do when it feels threatened? They fake a death.
What do Mother Pythons do to keep their eggs warm? Coil themselves around the eggs.
What are the only predators of a cobra? Humans and the mongoose.
How many rows of teeth do snakes have? 6 rows of teeth; four rows on the top and two on the bottom.
How many feet can a spitting Cobra spit? 6.6 feet.
