Unit 7 Human Body Systems and their main parts

Another name for the windpipe. Trachea

What lines and protects the esophagus and stomach? mucus
What type of blood vessel carries blood away from the heart? Artery
What type of blood vessel carries blood toward the heart? Vein
What type of change happens in the mouth? Physical and Chemical Changes
What system is the stomach part of? Digestive
What is the largest organ of the human body? Skin
What finger-like projections absorb nutrients in the small intestine? Villi
What are the three types of muscle? Skeletal, Smooth, Cardiac
What is the function of valves in a vein? Prevent blood from flowing in the reverse direction.
