Velum Transverse partition encircling mouth
Pharynx Receives incoming water from the mouth, entraps food in a film of mucus, and is responsible for some gas exchange
Hepatic cecum Lateral outpocket of intestine responsible for intracellular digestion of small food particles and lipid and glycogen storage
Intestine Site of enzymatic digestion of larger food particles
Atrium Ventral body chamber that receives water passed from pharynx through gill slits
Atriopore Discharges water from atrium to external environment
Anus Regulates egestion of undigested food (feces) from the body
