Succession

Community Succession replacement of one or more species through introduction of new species and extinction of old species

Primary Succession process that occurs when climatic conditions make changes in an abiotic feature like a rock weathering, also known as long-term transition with multiple succession communities, leading to climax community
Secondary Succession process that occurs when an environmental disturbance changes the biological conditions and abiotic features, also known as short-term transition leading to climax community
