| Tetrad | Each pair of homologous is called Crossing-Over: Portions of chromatids may break off and attach to adjacent chromatids on the homologous chromosomes |

| Independent Assortment | The random separation of the homologous chromosomes; results in genetic variation |
| Spermatogenesis | The production of sperm cells |
| Oogenesis | Production of mature egg cells |
| Polar Bodies | The other three products of meiosis; eventually will degenerate |
| Sexual Reproduction | Production of offspring through meiosis and the union of the sperm and egg cells |
