Chapter 18

TermDefinition
Biological Classification or Taxonomy process used by scientist in order to group living things together based on shared characteristics.
Kingdom Most General and largest grouping of living things
Species Most Specific and smallest grouping of living things. These organism are able to breed and make fertile offspring
Scientific Name A Latin name assigned to an organism which represents the genus species given to the living things.
Dichotomous Key A series of paired choices that eventually identifies the an unknown plant, animal or objects
