| Biochemical Relationship | the study of the chemical substances and vital processes occurring in living organisms |
| Class | a group or set with common characteristics |
| Embryological Relationship | he study of embryo and its development from a single-celled zygote to the establishment of form and shape |
| Eukaryotic Cell | the cell of a eukaryote; an organism that possesses a membrane-bound nucleus |
| Evolutionary Relationship | the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms |
| Family | a taxonomic rank in the classification of organisms between genus and order |
| Genus | a taxonomic category ranking used in biological classification that is below a family and above a species level |
| Homologous Structure | an organ or bone that appears in different animals underlining anatomical commonalities demonstrating descend from a common ancestor |
| Kingdom | a taxonomic rank that is composed of smaller groups called phyla |
| Order | a taxonomic rank used in classifying organisms, generally below the class, and comprised of families sharing a set of similar nature |
| Phylum | a principal taxonomic category that ranks above class and below kingdom |
| Prokaryotic cell | a single cell organism that lacks a membrane bound nucleus, mitochondria or any other membrane organelles |
| Species | one of the basic units of biological classification and taxonomic rank. It is often defined as the largest group of organisms capable of inter breeding and producing fertile offspring |
| Sub-phylum | a taxonomic category that ranks below phylum and above class |
| Taxonomy/ Taxon | a branch of science conceived with classification, especially of organisms |
