The reproductive system

Describe the scrotum a sac of skin and superficial fascia that hangs outside the abdominopelvic cavity at the root of the penis. It contains paired oval testes. A midline septum divides the scrotum providing a compartment for each testis.
Describe the testes Each plum sized testis is surrounded by a tunica vaginalis and a fibrous tunica albuginea. The tunica albuginea extends inward as septa creating approximately 250 wedge shaped lobules
Describe the function of seminiferous tubules Seminiferous tubules are 'sperm carrying' 'sperm factories'
What are the function of myoid cells within the seminiferous tubule? Myoid cells squeeze sperm and testicular fluids through the tubules and out of the testes
What function does the prostate play in reproduction? During ejaculation, prostatic smooth muscle contracts, squeeze prostatic secretions into the prostatic urethra. This fluid plays a role in activating sperm
