TermDefinition
Puberty The age at which young people reach sexual maturity.
Menstrual cycle A series of changes that take place in the female body every 28 days.
Ovulation The release of an egg from the ovary.
Fertilisation The joining of the nucleus of a sperm with the nucleus of an egg.
Implantation The attachment of the embryo to the lining of the uterus.
Pregnancy Carrying an embryo (or offspring) in the uterus.
Contraception The prevention of fertilisation or pregnancy.
Testis Produce sperm.
Scrotum Is a sac in which the testes are held.
Sperm duct They carry sperm from the testes to the penis.
Penis Allows semen to pass out of the male body and into the body of the female.
Ovary Produce eggs.
Fallopian tube The tube that collects the egg from the ovary and carries it to the uterus.
Uterus The place in which a baby will develop.
Cervix The opening or neck of the uterus.
Vagina the muscular tube into which the penis releases sperm.
Condom Covers the top of the penis.
The cap Covers the cervix.
The pill Stop embryo from attaching in the uterus.
Contractions Cause amnion to burst.
Fertile period A time a woman is most likely to get pregnant.
