Organism A living thing
Habitat A place an organism needs to live, grow, and reproduce.
Biotic Factor Living parts of a habitat
Abiotic Factor Non-living parts of a habitat
Photosynthesis The food making process of plants
Producer An organism that can make its own food
Consumer an organism that eats other organisms
Decomposer An organism that gets its energy by eating wastes and dead organisms
Herbivores consumers that eat only plants
Carnivores consumers that eat only animals
Omnivores consumers that eat both plants and animals
Food Chain a diagram that shows a series of organisms that eat other organisms
Food Web a diagram made up of many food chains in an ecosystem
Energy Pyramid a diagram in the shape of a pyramid that shows how energy moves from one feeding level to another
Biome A group of land ecosystems
