Autotroph/Primary Prducer Organism that is able to capture energy from sunlight of chemicals and use it to produce its own food
Photosynthesis Process used by plants to make food
Chemosynthesis Process in which chemical energy is used to produce carbohydrates
Carnivores Organism that obtains energy by eating animals ex: snakes, dogs, and cats
Herbivores Organism that obtains energy by eating only plants ex:deer and cows
Scavengers Animal that consumes the carcasses of other animals ex: vultures and raccoon's
Omnivores Organism that obtains energy by eating both plants and animals ex: humans, bears, and pigs
Decomposers Organism that breaks down and obtains energy from dead organic matter ex: bacteria and fungi
Detritivores Organism that feeds on plant and animal remains and other dead matter ex: shrimp, snails, and crab
