QuestionAnswer
organtic compunds countain carbon
carbohydrate sugar, starch
lipid fat, wax, oil
saturated fat carbons in lipids fatty acid connected by single bonds
unsaturated fat at least 1 carbon
proteins muscle, hair. helps transport cells
3 parts of eukaryotic cell membane, nucleus, cytoplasm
proceriotic cell no nucleus
uceriotic cell has nucleus
unicellular single celled organisms
multicellular multiple celled organisms
photosynthesis occurs in granna, requires light, water is split producing energy and oxygen, energy used to power calvin cycle, products....energy and oxygen
calvin cycle occurs in stroma, dosn't require light or dark, requires co2, produces glucose,
cellular respiration breaking down food molecules to release energy needed 2 form atp
glycolysis occurs in cytoplasm
anaerobic no oxygen present, 4 atps produced, glucose split into 2 pyruvic acid molecules. creates energy and pyrvic acid
krebs cycle occurs in mitochondria, oxygen present-aerobic, uses pyrvic acid to form glycolysis, oxygen combines with carbons of pyruvic acid to make co2
electron transport chain occurs in inner membranes of mitochondria, most atp is at this stage, H forms ions and forms new atps, h combines with O to make H2O
