| Active Transport | The process by which materials, using energy supplied by the cell, are moved across a membrane. |
| Bile | A liquid that is made in the liver, stored in the gallbladder, and breaks down fat. |
| Diffusion | The process by which molecules move from places where they are more concentrated to places where they are less concentrated. A form of passive transport. |
| Duodenum | The first 25 centimeters of the small intestines; site where the most chemical digestion occurs. |
| Gallbladder | The organ where bile is stored. |
| Liver | The organ where bile is made. |
| Pancreas | The organ that makes pancreatic juice |
| Passive Transport | A process the same as diffusion. |
| Pyloric Sphincter | The spinster on the bottom of the stomach. |
| Semi-Permeable | Selective barrier that only lets certain molecules in. |
| Equilibrium | A state of rest or balance due to the equal action of opposing forces. |
| Osmosis | The diffusion of fluids through membranes. |
