| Carrying Capacity | Largest number of individuals in a species that an environment can support long-term. |
| Density-Dependent Factor | Environmental factor, such as predation, disease, and competition, that depends on the number of members. |
| Denisty-Independent Factor | Environmental factor, such as storms and extreme heat or cold, that affects populations regardless of their density. |
| Dispersion | Arrangement of a population in its environment. |
| Eigration | Movement of individuals away from a population. |
| Immigration | Movement of individuals into a population. |
| Population Denisty | Group of organisms of the same species that occupy the same geographic place at the same time |
| Population Growth Rate | How fast a specific population grows. |
| Age Structure | In any population, the number of individuals in their pre-reproductive, reproductive, and post-reproductive years. |
| Demographic Transisiton | Population change from high birth rates and death rates to low birth rates and death rates. |
| Demography | Study of human populations based on size, density, movement, distribution,and birth and death rates. |
| Zero Population Growth (ZPG) | Occurs when the birth rate equals the death rate. |
