Cell division from interphase to cytokinesis
| Word | Meaning |

| Interphase | Cells grow, copy their DNA and organelles, and perform their normal functions. |
| Prophase | Chromosomes become visible. |
| Metaphase | Chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell. |
| Anaphase | Chromatids are pulled to opposite sides of the cell. |
| Telophase | Chromatids reach opposite sides and new nuclear membranes form. |
| Cytokinesis | The cell completely splits in half. |
| Meiosis | cell division that results in two cells with half the normal number of chromosomes. |
| Mitosis | The division of a nucleus that results in two identical daughter cells. |
| Chromosome | coiled structure of DNA and protein. |
| cell cycle | series of events involving the growth, replication, and division of a cell. |
