heredity The passing of physical characteristics from parents to offspring
trait Form of characteristic such as stem or seed color, is a trait

homozygous an organism that has two identical alleles for a trait is said to be homozygous for that trait

meiosis the process by wich the number of chromosomes is reduced by half to form sex cells sperm and egg
messenger RNA copies the coded message from the dna in the nucleus , and carries the message to the ribosome in the cytoplasm
transfer carries amino acids to the ribosome and adds them to growing protein
mutation change in gene or chromosome
