| Alleles | Are different forms of genes |
| Dominant Alleles | Is one whose trait always shows up in the organism when the allele is present |
| Recessive Alleles | Is hidden whenever the dominant allele is present |
| Hybrid | An organism that has two different alleles for a trait |
| Probability | Is to predict the results of a particular event |
| Punnet square | Is a chart that shows all the possible combinations of alleles that can form in a genetic cross |
| Phenotype | Is the organisms visible traits |
| Genotype | Is the organisms genetic makeup |
| Homozygous | Is when an organism that has two identical alleles for a trait |
| Heterozygous | Is when an organism has two different alleles for a trait |
| Codominace | Is that alleles are neither dominant or recessive |
| Meiosis | Is the process in which the number of chromosomes is reduced by half to form sex cells |
| Messenger RNA | copies the coded message from DNA in the nucleus |
| Transfer RNA | carries amino acids to the ribosome and adds growing protein |
| Mutation | Is any change in a gene or chromosomes |
