Cell Membrane *Outside covering *Determines what goes in/out of cell. *Flexible but supports cells.
Vacuole *Storage unit in cells that_hold water *Large in plants, small in animal cells
Nucleus *Control center of cell *Houses DNA *Controls cell growth and makes ribosome
Mitochondria *"Powe House of the cell" *Produces energy (breaks down glucose) *C6H12O6+O2 --> CO2+H2O+Energy
Cytoplasm *Gelatinous, semi-transparent fluid that fills the cells *Organelles are suspended in cytoplasm
Chloroplast *captures radiant energy and converts it to chemical energy(C6H12O6). Has Chlorophyll - green pigment that absorbs light.
Eukaryote *(No ribosomes) transports cell products
Lysosome *Contains digestive enzymes to break things down in cell
Ribosome * Site of Protein Synthesis
Golgi Body *Packages cell products for transport (like ups)
