homologous chromosomes 2 chromosomes of each pair in a diploid cell.

eggs female gametes
sexual reproduction involves the production and fusion of haploid sex cells.
crossing over occurs at any location on a chromosome.
genetic recombination reassortment of chromosomes and genetic info.
nondisjunction failure of homologous chromosomes to separate properly during meiosis.
