Hybrid, Purebred, Heredity, Trait, Offspring, Gene, Alleles

| Heredity | Is the passing of physical characteristics from parents to offspring. |
| Hybrid | An organism that has two different alleles for a trait. |
| Purebread | An organism that is the offspring of many generations that have the same trait. |
| Trait | Each different form of a characteristic, such as stem height or seed color. |
| Offspring | A child or animal that is in blood relation with it's parent or parents. |
| Gene | The set of information that controls trait. |
| Alleles | Any of several forms of a gene. |
| Dominant Allele | An allele that produces the same phenotype whether its paired allele is identical or different |
| Recessive Allele | An allele that produces its characteristic phenotype only when its paired allele is identical. |
| Homozygous | Having identical pairs of genes for any given pair of hereditary characteristics. |
| Heterozygous | Having dissimilar pairs of genes for any hereditary characteristic. |
| Genotype | The genetic makeup of an organism or group of organisms with reference to a single trait, set of traits, or an entire complex of traits. |
| Phenotype | The observable constitution of an organism. |
