Biology The science of life
Organism Anything that has or once had all the characteristics of life
Organization Arranged in an orderly way
Growth The addition of mass to an organism and in many organisms, the formation of new cells and new structure
Development Process of natural changes that take place during the life of an organism
Reproduction The production of offspring
Stimulus Anything that is part of either environment and causes some sort of reaction by the organism
Response The reaction to a stimulus
Homeostasis Regulation of an organism's internal conditions to maintain life
Adaptation Any inherited characteristic that results from changes to a species over time
Species Group of organisms that can breed with one another and produce fertile offspring
Science Body of knowledge based on the study of nature
Theory An explanation of a natural phenomenon supported by many observations and experiments
Peer Review Process by which, in science, the procedures used during an experiment and the results are evaluated by other scientists who are in the same field
Metric system Uses units with divisions that are powers of ten
Forensics A field of study that applies science to matters of legal interest
Ethics Set of moral principles or values
