Where does the energy that living things used come from? They are from the SUN. What is the process called when energy has entered plants, bacteria and protists(bacterium or related organism) The process whereby energy has entered plants, bacteria and other related organism or bacterium is called ’ PHOTOSYNTHESIS’ There are two types of organisms that have direct access to the energy in plant tissues. One of them is herbivores, which feed on plants that are alive, and the decomposers, feeding on plants that are dead.
