organic nothing or pertaining to a class of chemical compounds that formerly comprised only of those existing in derived from plants or animals
monomers a molecule of low molecular weight capable of reacting with identical or different molecules of low molecular weight to form a polymer.
polymer a compound of high molecular weight derived either by addition of many smaller molecules
macromolecules large molecule, as a colloidal
carbohydrate Any class of organic compounds that are polyhydroxy, aldehydes or ketones, or change to such substances on simple chemical transformations.
protein Macromolecule that contains carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen.
nucleic acid A group of long, linear macrmolecules ,DNA or RNA
lipid any of a group of organic compounds that are greasy to the touch
activation energy Least amount of energy required to activate atoms or molecules to a state in which they can undergo a chemical reaction.
enzyme Variations of proteins, as pepsin, originating from living cells and capable of producing certain chemical changes.
