Independent variable The variable that is changed on purpose
Dependent variable The variable that is measured and responds to the changing variable.
Biology Study of life.
Constant The term for variables that must stay the same in the experiment.
Experiment The procedure that is carried out to test a hypothesis.
Scientific theory Related hypothesis that have been tested many times.
Homeostasis When an organism maintains a stable environment despite external conditions.
Evolution The change in organisms over time.
Metabolism The sum of all the chemical reactions carried out by an organism.
Cells What is the smallest unit of life?
Sun Most energy comes from what source?
Interdependence Organisms depend on each other and their environment.
Heredity The term for the passing of traits from parents to offspring.
Reproduction Making more of own kind.
Robert Hooke He created term "cell".

Diaphragm - purpose What part of microscope do you use to adjust the amount of light?
Fine focus - purpose What focus do you use when switching from low power to high power with microscope?
Coarse focus - purpose What focus do you use when first finding your object in a microscope?
Objective lens - purpose What type of lens can you change to adjust the magnification of the object when using a microscope?
