Chapter 9 excretory system key definitions

TermDefinition
Excretion The removal of wastes that are made in body cells
Egestion The removal of solid wastes from digestion
Renal artery Carries blood rich in wastes to the kidney
Renal vein Carries blood with wastes removed away from the kidney
Ureter Carries urine from the kidney to the bladder
Bladder Stores urine before it is released from the body
Urethra Carries urine out of the body
Urine It is a waste product made in the kidneys and passes out of the body through the urethra. It is made up of urea, excess water and salts
