organelles tiny cell structures that carry out specific function within the cell
cell wall is a rigid layer of nonliving material that surrounds the cell of plants and other organisms
cell membrane controls what substances come into and out of the cell wall
cytoplasm the region between the cell membrane and the nucleus gel like substance
mitchocondria suddenly rod shaped structures also known as power houses
endoplasmic reticulum carries proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to another
ribosome function as factories to produce proteins
golgi body receives proteins and other newly formed materials from the endoplasmic reticulum packaged them and distributed them to other parts of the cell
chloroplast captures energy from sunlight and uses it to produce food for the cell
vacuole storage of the cell
lysosomes are small round structures containing chemicals that break down certain materials in the cell
