2.1 Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Organisms A living thing like your pets,plants,and insects you might even name yourself.
Cell is a basic unit structure and function in an organism.
Unicellular include bacteria the most numerous organisms on Earth.
Multicellular are composed of many cells that are specialized to do certain tasks.
Stimulus a change in an organisms surroundings that causes the organisms to react.
Response an action or change in behavior.
Development is the process of that change that occurs during an organism’s life to produce more complex organism.
Spontaneous Generation the mistaken idea that living things can arise from nonliving sources.
Autotrophs organisms that make their own food.
Heterotrophs organisms that can not make their own food.
Homeostrasis the maintenance of stable internal conditions.
