| Cell | the basic unit of life |
| Organelle | a structure inside a cell that has a specific job |
| Eukaryote | Multi-celled organism; HAS a nucleus |
| Organism | A group of organ systems |
| Prokaryote | A single celled organism with NO nucleus |
| Organ System | A group of organs that work together for a common reason or purpose |
| Tissue | A group of cells that work together for a common reason or purpose |
| Chloroplast | organelle in plant cells that holds chlorophyll used for making food in plants |
| Cell Wall | Rigid outer layer of the plant cell that gives it shape and protects the cell |
| Cell Membrance | The think covering that allows things to flow into and out of the cell(found in plant AND animal cells) |
| Mitochondria | The power-house of the cell; energy is stored here |
| Cytoplasm | Jelly-like substance that fills the cell and holds the other organelles in place |
| Nucleus | The brains of the cell; where DNA is stored; control-center of the cell |
| Organ | A group of tissues that work together for a common purpose |
