| Macroevolution | evolution in a huge way, causing species to go extinct and allowing others to succeed. ex. KT event 65 million years ago |
| Microevolution | evolution in a small way ex. a gene change in a population over 30 years. ex. furless vs. furred rabbits |
| Reproductive isolation | separation of a species due to the inability of producing offspring |
| Geographic Isolation | separation of a species due to a barrier like an ocean or a mountain. |
| Variation | the subtle differences among a species due to genetic differences. Ex. Egrets have short, medium, and long legs. |
| Diversity | It is the reason why the Peppered Moth of London survived in a a changing environment and did not go extinct |
| Mutations | changes in DNA sequence that can be neutral, beneficial, or deadly |
| Speciation | the formation of a new species |
