Crossing over allows chromosomes to exchange genetic information
Chromatin a structure that is made of loose DNA wrapped around histone proteins.
asexual reproduction the production of offspring with identical DNA from a single parent, like bacteria
sexual reproduction the production of offspring with different DNA from two parents, like mice
Variation changes or differences due to the inherited DNA.
Homologous chromosomes a set of chromosomes that has the same type of information one form each parent.
Law of Independent Assortment states chromosomes segregate randomly as gametes of produced
Linked genes genes found closely together on the same chromosome are often inherited together (red hair and freckles)
