Smooth endoplasmic reticulum produces lipids for the cell membrane and detoxifies the cell
Rough endoplasmic reticulum site of protein synthesis (i.e. where proteins are made)
Mitochondria takes in oxygen and food to produce cellular energy (i.e. ATP)
Nucleolus dark center of nucleus, makes ribosomes
Nucleus controls cell activities and stores genetic info
eukaryote a cell with a nucleus and membrane bound organelles
Prokaryote a cell with no nucleus and simple organelles
Virus not a cell, made of nucleic acid and protein coat
Cell membrane regulates what enters and leaves the cell
