TermDefinition
behavior the way an organism reacts and acts to normal occurrences in the environment.
stimulus a reaction to a conflict or occurrence within an organism or in its environment
response the behavioral result of a stimulus
innate behavior a behavior you're born doing
learning to acquire knowledge that you didn't know prior to something else
habituation when you grow so used to something, it no longer affects you the way it once did
classical conditioning when you know what is expected of you or what is expected to happen based on past occurrences
operant conditioning behavior modification based on a reoccurring event. Forming the desired stimulus
insight learning using knowledge you have and applying it to something you have never seen before
imprinting a behavior that is usually started very soon after the start of life that forms a bond
migration a known movement done within a species that isn't taught, it is simply known beforehand
circadian rhythms an activity that is repeated consistently for long periods of time
courtship when a certain activity takes place when an organism is trying to find a mate
territory a certain area of land that is up kept by a specific species
aggression an attack of slightly disturbing behavior
communication the ability to "talk" between organisms
language means of communication between organisms
dominance hierarchy the submission of others within a certain species to the alpha
