Review of biotic and abiotic factors in our world.
| Term | Definition |

| Species | is a group of organisms that can mate with each other and produce off-spring that can also mate and reproduce |
| Prey | the organism that is being hunted or killed |
| Community | all the different populations that live togeher in an area |
| Population | all members of one species living in a particular area |
| Emigration | leaving a population |
| Death Rate | is the number of deaths in a population over a specfic time frame |
| Habitat | an environment that provides the specific things organisms need to live, grow and reproduce |
| Biotic Factors | a living and/or once living organism |
| Immigration | to come into a new place |
| symbiosis | is any relationship in which two species live closely together and at least one of the species benefits |
| Niche | the role of an organism in its habitat |
| Ecosystem | Oranisms that live in a particular area, along with their non-living surrounding |
| Parasitism | a relationship that involves one organism living with, on, or inside another organism and harming it |
| carrying capacity | the largest population that an area can support |
| competition | the struggle between organisms to survive |
| limiting factors | environmental factors that can cause a population to stop growing or a decrease in size |
| Predator | the organism that does the killing |
| Adaptations | behaviors and physical characteristics that allow organisms to live successfully in their environment |
| Mutualism | a relationship in which both species benefit |
| Birth Rate | is the number of births in a population over a specific period of time |
