What is respiration? The release of energy from food.

What is the word equation for aerobic respiration? Food + Oxygen -> Water Vapour + Carbon Dioxide + Energy
What is the scientific term for your throat? Pharynx
What is the scientific term for your voice box? Larynx
How is the trachea kept open while breathing? Rings of Cartilage
Where does the exchange of the gases oxygen and carbon dioxide take place in the lung? The alveoli
Name the blood vessels that surround the alveoli, that carry oxygen in to the bloodstream and allow carbon dioxide to pass out. Capillaries
Name the muscle underneath the rib cage that expands and contracts to allow breathing. Diaphragm
Name the muscles in between the rib bones that allow them to expand and contract when breathing. Intercostal muscles
Name two medical conditions that can be made worse by smoking. Asthma, Bronchitis (Emphysema)
