| Independent Assortment | Genes that segregate independently do not influence each others inheritance |
| Incomplete Dominance | One allele is not completely dominant over another |
| Co-Dominance | Both alleles contribute to the phenotype |
| Multiple Alleles | More than 2 possible alleles exist in a population |
| Polygenic Traits | Traits controlled by 2+ genes; Having many genes |
| Haploid | Single set of genes; one set |
| Diploid | Both sets of homologous chromosomes; Two sets |
| Meiosis | Number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half through the separation of homologous chromosomes in a diploid cell |
