multiple alleles genes with more than two alleles, more than two possible alleles exist in the population
polygenic traits traits made by 2 or more genes
diploid two sets of chromosomes
haploid half the set of chromosomes
meiosis the division of gamates (sex cells)
tetrad when each chromosome pairs with its corresponding homologous to form a structure
