| Hetereozygous | Organisms that have two different alleles for the same trait. |
| Phenotype | The physical characteristics. |
| Genotype | The genetic makeup. |
| Independent Assortment | The process of random segregation and assortment of chromosomes. |
| Incomplete Dominance | When one allele is not completely dominant over another. |
| Codominance | Both alleles contribute to the physical characteristics. |
| Multiple Alleles | When a gene has more than two alleles. |
| Polygenic Traits | A trait that is controlled by a group of non-allelic genes. |
| Diploid | Means containing two complete set of chromosomes. |
| Haploid | Means having a single set of unpaired chromosomes. |
| Meiosis | Process in which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half. |
| Tetrad | When each chromosome pairs with its corresponding homologous chromosome. |
