| Homozygous | Organisms that have two of the same genes for a trait. |
| Heterozygous | Organisms that have two different genes for a trait. |

| Independent Assortment | Genes segregate independently. |
| Incomplete Dominance | When one organelle is not completely dominant over another. |
| Co-dominance | Both alleles of a gamete of a gene contribute to the phenotype. |
| Multiple Alleles | Genes that have more than two alleles. |
| Polygenic Traits | Traits that are controlled by two or more gnes. |
| Haploid | One set of chromosomes. |
| Diploid | Both sets of chromosomes. |
| Meisos | Division of sex cells. |
| Tetrad | Structure containing four chromatids |
