| Homozygous | Organisms that have two identical alleles. |
| Heterozygous | Two diffent alleles for the same trait. |
| Phenotype | A physical characteristic. |
| Genotype | Genetic makeup. |
| Independent Assortment | The segregation of genes during the formation of gametes |
| Incomplete Dominance | Where both alleles contribute to the phenotype. |
| Co-Dominance | When both alleles contribute to the phenotype. |
| Multiple Alleles | Genes with more than 2 alleles can exist in a population. |
| Polygenic Twists | Traits controlled by two or more genes. |
| Haploid | One set of chromosomes. |
| Diploid | Two sets of chromosomes. |
