Cardiac Cycle Definition Complete heart beat consisting of sytole and diastole of both atrias and both ventricles.
Congestive Heart Failure Definition Hearts weak and can't push blood through the circulatory system
Heart Block Definition Arrythmia of the heart and atria and the ventricles contract independently because the electrical impulses are blocked.
Ischemia Definition Lack of blood to an area due to an obstruction of a blood vessel
Murmor Definition Blowing, swooshing sound occurs with turbulent blood flow in heart or vessels
Myocardial Infarction Definition Heart tissue dies due to interrupted blood supply.
Palpitation Definition Fluttering of the heart or abnormal rhythm
Stenosis Definition Abnormal narrowing or constriction of a duct
Cardiac Output Definition Volume of blood ejected from the left ventricle into the aorta or opposite
Stroke Volume Definition Volume of blood ejected by the ventricle
After Load Definition Pressure that must be exceeded before ejection of blood from the ventricles
Preload Definition Degree of stretch on the heart before it contracts
