How does non-disjunction cause Downs Syndrome?
Trisomy 21 When there is a third copy of chromosomes 21 resulting in Downs Syndrome.
How are chromosomes arranged a karyotype? Chromosomes are arranged in order of size and structure, the lowest number is the biggest chromosome.
What is the purpose of a karyotype? Karyotyping is used to determine if there are any pre-natal chromosomal disorders which could link to physical disorders.
What are the two ways cells are collected for a karyotype? Cells are collected through amniocentesis and chronic villas.
How would one determine if non-disjuntion occurred when analyzing a karyotype?
