Simple Diffusion

Diffusion Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Concentration Gradient The difference in the concentration of a substance from one location to another.
Equilibrium A state in which the concentration on the inside of the cell is equal to the concentration on the outside of the cell.
Passive Transport Transportation in and out of a cell that requires no energy; always from a high concentration to a low concentration.
Simple Diffusion The movement of molecules in a high concentration to a low concentration.
