Antimetabolites
5-Fluorouracil inhibit synthesis of purine and pyridimine precursors
Methotrexate inhibit synthesis of purine and pyridimine precursors
Gemcitabine directly competing with the normal molecules in DNA or RNA synthesis.
Antibiotics (DNA intercalating agents) generates reactive oxygen species, intercalates between bases or causes strands to break.
Anthracyclines inhibits topoisomerase II
Bleomycin lymphoma, squamous cell cancers, testicular and bladder cancers.
Doxorubicin leukimias, lymphomas, sarcomas, adenocarcinomas.
Alkylating agents transfer alkyl groups to guanine = resulting in the cross-linking of DNA bases.
