| Indomethacin | Acetic acids: 20-30x more potent then ASA, for rheumatic arthritis. High incidence of side effects |
| Sulindac | Acetic acids: Good efficacy, renal sparing (metabolism). |
| Acetic Acids | Sulindac, Indomethacin |
| Ibuprofen | Propionic acid: Rheumatoid arthritis, dysmenorrhea. Accumulates in synovial fluid. |
| Naproxen | Propionic acid: Rheumatoid arthritis, gout. 10-20x more potent than ASA. |
| Propionic acid | Naproxen, Ibuprofen |
| Oxicams | Piroxicam, Meloxicam |
| Piroxicam | Long half-life (30-80hours). Entero-heaptic circulation. As strong as indomethacin, better patient compliance. |
| Meloxicam | Similar to Piroxicam. |
| Para-aminophenol | Acetaminophen, Mesoprostol |
| Acetaminophen | Not a Cox inhibitor. Unknown mechanism. Derived from coal tar. |
| Mesoprostol | PGE2 analogue. (used to prevent stomach acidity build up). |
