Name a physical and chemical function of the stomach in the digestive system The stomach churns and grinds the food creating simpler more soluble pieces and the chemical function is that the hcl acid in the stomach breaks down the food at the optimum level of ph7.
What does the bile from the stomach break down and where is the organ found? Fat from the gall bladder
Tiny finger like projections in the small intestine is called... Villi
What is digestion? Digestion is the breakdown of large insoluble food molecules into smaller ones
What is the job of the digestive system Break down food for the use of the body
A long tube that carries food from the mouth to the body Oesophagus
What acid is found in the stomach Hydrochloric acid
What is peristalsis The movement of food through the stomach
How does the liver help digestion it removes excess water and returns it to the bloodstream
